Ingredients
  

Nacho Base

  • 4 cups Tortilla Chips Use sturdy chips to prevent breaking
  • 2 cups Cheddar or Monterey Jack Cheese Freshly grated for best melting

Optional Toppings

  • 1/2 cup Pico de Gallo
  • 1/4 cup Sour Cream or Greek Yogurt
  • 1 whole Avocado Sliced or diced
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Cilantro Chopped
  • 1/4 cup Sliced Jalapenos Optional for heat

Instructions
 

  • 1. Prepare the basket: Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper or foil, making sure it covers the bottom and slightly up the sides without blocking airflow.
  • 2. First layer: Add half of the tortilla chips in an even layer. Sprinkle half of the grated cheese evenly over the chips.
  • 3. Second layer: Add the remaining chips and top with the rest of the cheese to ensure every chip gets coverage.
  • 4. Air fry: Cook at 325°F (162°C) for 5 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbling. Check at 4 minutes the first time you make them, as air fryers can vary.
  • 5. Serve: Carefully lift the parchment from the basket and transfer to a serving plate. Add desired toppings and serve immediately for best crispness.

Notes

For best results, grate your own cheese instead of using pre-shredded varieties. To make a healthier version, use baked tortilla chips and reduce cheese slightly while adding beans or grilled chicken for protein. Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 325°F for 2 to 3 minutes to restore crispness.
