Equipment

  • Baking Dish
  • Mixing bowl
  • Meat thermometer
  • Tongs

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts about 6 to 8 ounces each
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley or 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • lemon wedges optional for serving

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and allow it to fully heat.
    2. Prepare the chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. If needed, gently pound to even thickness. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, paprika, and dried thyme.
    3. Make the garlic butter: In a small mixing bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, and parsley. Stir well until fragrant.
    4. Assemble: Place the seasoned chicken breasts into a baking dish. Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over each piece, ensuring the tops are fully coated.
    5. Bake: Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, depending on thickness, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). The edges should be lightly golden and the butter bubbling.
    6. Optional broil: For additional browning, broil for 2 to 3 minutes while watching carefully.
    7. Rest: Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing to retain juices.

Notes

For extra moisture, spoon some of the melted garlic butter from the baking dish over the chicken before serving. If using larger chicken breasts, slice them horizontally before baking to ensure even cooking. Always use a meat thermometer to prevent overcooking.
