Instructions
Marinate the Beef:
In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), and cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
Heat the Skillet:
In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over high heat until it shimmers.
Sear the Beef:
Add the marinated beef to the hot skillet in a single layer. Sear for about 2-3 minutes without stirring, until browned. Flip the beef and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
Cook the Vegetables:
In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Add the sliced onion, bell pepper, garlic, and ginger (if using). Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
Combine Ingredients:
Return the seared beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
Season and Serve:
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot over cooked rice and enjoy your delicious Pepper Steak with Onion!
