Pizza Layers
- 2 Thick pre made pizza crusts (9-inch) Hand tossed style preferred
- 1 cup Pizza sauce Divided
- 2.5 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup Beef pepperoni slices Turkey or plant-based may be used
- 1 cup Cooked ground beef Seasoned with salt and black pepper
- 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
Topping
- 0.5 cup Mozzarella cheese For top layer
- 2 tablespoons Fresh basil or parsley Chopped, optional garnish
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch springform pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
Place one pizza crust into the pan and pre bake for 5 to 7 minutes until slightly set. Remove from oven and allow to cool briefly.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until fully browned. Drain excess fat and season lightly with salt and black pepper.
Spread half of the pizza sauce evenly over the pre baked crust. Sprinkle 1 cup mozzarella, then add half of the cooked beef, half of the beef pepperoni, and 1/2 cup cheddar cheese.
Place the second crust on top and gently press down. Repeat layering with remaining sauce, mozzarella, beef, pepperoni, and cheddar.
Top with remaining mozzarella cheese and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until cheese is melted and golden brown.
Allow the pizza layer cake to rest for 10 minutes before removing the springform ring. Slice and serve warm.
Pre baking the bottom crust helps prevent sogginess. Avoid using too much sauce to maintain structure. Letting the pizza rest before slicing ensures clean layers.
