Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean beef flank steak, sirloin, or your preferred cut
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup bell peppers sliced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 small cucumber sliced
  • 1 cup fresh lettuce leaves for wraps
  • ½ avocado sliced
  • 1 tbsp fresh cilantro chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Optional: Sriracha or hot sauce for extra heat
  • Optional: 1 cup rice or quinoa for serving

Instructions

Marinate the Beef:

  • In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, ground cumin, salt, and pepper. Rub this marinade all over the beef and let it sit for 10–15 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Cook the Beef:

  • Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the beef for about 3–4 minutes on each side, or until it's browned and cooked through to your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes.

Prepare the Veggies:

  • While the beef is resting, slice the bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, and cucumber. Set aside in a bowl.

Slice the Beef:

  • After the beef has rested, slice it thinly against the grain to ensure tenderness.

Assemble the Dish:

  • Lay out fresh lettuce leaves on a platter. Add a few slices of beef to each leaf, then top with the fresh vegetables, avocado slices, and a sprinkle of cilantro. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the top for an extra burst of flavor.

Optional Step:

  • For a more filling meal, serve the beef and veggies over rice or quinoa. For added heat, drizzle with a bit of Sriracha or your favorite hot sauce.

Serve and Enjoy:

  • Serve immediately while the beef is warm, and enjoy this refreshing and delicious Simple Beef Dish for Warm Weather.
