Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Rubber spatula
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Airtight container

Ingredients

Cream Base

  • 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant butterscotch pudding mix
  • 1 cup whole milk cold
  • 6 ounces whipped topping such as Cool Whip

Mix Ins

  • 3 large Granny Smith apples peeled, cored, and cut into 1/2 inch cubes
  • 6 full size bars Snickers candy bars cut into bite sized pieces

Optional Topping

  • 2 tablespoons caramel sauce for drizzling

Instructions

  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes until thickened and smooth.
  • Gently fold the whipped topping into the pudding mixture using a rubber spatula until fully combined and fluffy.
  • Peel, core, and dice the apples into 1/2 inch cubes. If desired, briefly toss them in a mixture of water and a little lemon juice to prevent browning, then pat dry.
  • Cut the Snickers candy bars into bite sized pieces, aiming for similar size pieces as the apples for even texture.
  • Fold the chopped apples and Snickers pieces into the pudding mixture until evenly distributed. Do not overmix.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to blend and the salad to firm up slightly.
  • Before serving, gently stir and transfer to a serving bowl. Drizzle with caramel sauce if desired and serve chilled.

Notes

For best texture, add freshly chopped apples just before serving if making ahead. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Freezing is not recommended as the texture will change once thawed.
