Ingredients
  

  • 1 Tomahawk steak 2-3 lbs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 4 cloves garlic smashed

Instructions
 

Preheat & Prepare:

  • Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). Pat the Tomahawk steak dry with paper towels and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.

Season the Steak:

  • Rub the steak with olive oil, then generously season with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on all sides.

Slow Roast in the Oven:

  • Place the steak on a wire rack over a baking sheet and roast for 45-50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 120-125°F (49-52°C) for medium-rare.

Sear for a Perfect Crust:

  • Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat. Add butter, rosemary, thyme, and garlic. Sear the steak for 1-2 minutes per side, basting with butter for extra flavor.

Rest & Serve:

  • Transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!
