Shrimp
- 1 pound Large shrimp, peeled and deveined Pat dry before cooking
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
Honey Garlic Sauce
- 1/4 cup Honey
- 4 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Low sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Cornstarch Optional, for thickening
Garnish
- 2 Green onions, sliced
- 1 teaspoon Sesame seeds Optional
Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and black pepper.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, olive oil, and cornstarch if using.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a small drizzle of olive oil and place shrimp in a single layer.
Cook shrimp for 2 to 3 minutes on one side until pink and lightly golden. Flip and cook another 1 to 2 minutes.
Reduce heat to medium and pour the honey garlic sauce into the skillet. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the shrimp.
Remove from heat once shrimp are opaque and cooked through. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Do not overcook the shrimp, as they can become rubbery. Shrimp are perfectly cooked when they reach an internal temperature of 120 to 125°F and curl into a loose C shape. For meal prep, store in airtight containers for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
